Talton Russell, A Mean Fighting machine; A 1994 Calallen High School Graduate. An Outstanding Offensive Player on Coach Phil Danaher Football Team. Selected All State, made the All Southwest Texas Selection. Son of Scotty and Patricia P. Russell. Sister: Dawn Russell-Lacey, an alumni of the 1988 Class. Scholarship: Stephen F. Austin College. To play for the SFA Lumberjacks.

Two Calallen Wildcats, played together again, this time at Stephen E. Austin: Two GREAT Calallen Wildcats Talton Russell & Travis Fallon.

In College, like in Calallen High, Talton fitted right in. In 1994, He made the Varsity Team, at this time he was a freshman. In 1995 & 1996, Talton made the team again. At 6'3" 280 pounds, he made some great holes for the Lumberjack running backs. In fact, In 1996, He opened some holes That in the history of SFA, Only 5 running backs had rushed more than 1000 yds. Pat House running through these Russell-made holes became the 6th SFA running back to join the elite. -- Congratulations Talton Russell #64 at SFA.

Talton, while he played at Calallen, was First Team: All District, All Metro, and All South Texas. He was Second Team All State, Associated Press, and Third Team All State, Texas Sport Writers Association. He also was 1993 Homecoming King. While at Stephen F. Austin State University (Lumberjacks), he was a four-year letterman, starting in twenty-eight games. All Southland Conference Offensive Guard and named to the All Southland Conference Academic Team. He served as a Team captain during his senior year and organized team involvement in local charities such as The March of Dimes and The Nacogdoches Boys and Girls Club. During the 1998-1999 Season, he acted in the capacity of Assistant Offensive Line Coach. He pledged Kappa Alpha fraternity in 1995 and was voted Pledge Class President and Favorite Pledge. During his senior he served as Vice-President and Pledge Trainer. He was voted Best Active for 1998-1999.
