Dedications
This site is dedicated; first of all, to The WEBMASTER'S Class of 1956; And to our first
football players; back in the "Forties" to Present day, Players like the "Ware Brothers; G.A. and Bobby Glenn, Royce
Pugh, Hermi Atkinson,Glen Davis, Charles Wigginton, Bill Rhyne (Later Coach), Ray Hanna,
George Batcheller, Clifton King, Kenneth Wooden, Bill Kelso, Adami Brothers, Austin and Allan, All State Wes Danaher
and who without a doubt was the most prolific runner in 31-4A in Texas, and who ranked 3rd nationally.
We dedicate this site, also, to our late coach of the Fifties: Coach Harry "Pop" Mohrmann, jr. Who took
the 1955 Wildcats to the Regional Championship, and for class B school this was as
far as it went. We lost to Dilley, but we gave Dilley our best shot. And now, we have Coach Phil Danaher, for him we, also, dedicate this site. A coach
whose hard work has turned Calallen Football Team into the best there was for
the 1990s; a record 6th time consecutive Regional Champions. Only La Marque and Calallen has
accomplished this feat, and in 2000, La Marque and Calallen has gone on for its 6th Semifinal Playoff Game. And dedicated to Coach
Steve Chapman who has being runner-up twice in the 4A Texas Baseball
Championship Game, In the year 2000 and 2005,the Calallen High School Baseball
Team went all the Way and won the Gold (State).
This site is dedicated to our Calallen ISD also, for it is a school second to none;
Its high standards exist in Academics, Athletics, Fine Arts, Citizenship and
Vocation. Some of us, have attended and graduated from the "Alamo" Calallen's
first multigrade school from 1st to 12th in one building. Then followed the
High School on Cornett Drive, and finally our modern High School on FM624 and
Wildcat Drive. Both the School and the Football Field are greatly constructed,
and a beautiful academic site in Southwest Texas.
This site is also dedicated to the past, present, and future Calallen Students,
each one is invited to sign and leave messages to your past and present alumni friends.
And Finally, this Calallen Web Site. (unofficial) is dedicated to the legendary
and great teacher; who taught us with love; and who cared for her students. One who
taught this Webmaster: English and other subjects and she has had schools named after
her. None other, than; the Late:
WILMA E. MAGEE |
We,who were taught by her; dedicate this fine song below made famous by Judy Garland in the "Wizard of
Oz", to the Legendary Teacher. And maybe, she is sitting on a white cloud,
listening to "Somewhere Over the Rainbow".
SOMEWHERE OVER THE RAINBOW
|
|
Somewhere over the rainbow, way up high,
There's a land that I heard of
once in a lullaby.
Somewhere over the rainbow
Skies are blue.
And the dreams that you dare to dream
Really do come true.
Someday I'll wish upon a star
And wake up where the clouds are far behind me.
Where troubles melt like lemon drops,
Away above the chimney tops.
That's where you'll find me.
Somewhere over the rainbow,
Bluebirds fly.
Birds fly over the rainbow,
Why then - oh, why can't I?
If happy little bluebirds fly
Beyond the rainbow,
Why, oh, why can't I?
